Analyst Take: T-Mobile joining forces with Amazon Web Services is a move that will benefit customers wanting to take advantage of 5G edge solutions, leveraging T-Mobile’s 5G Advanced Network Solutions portfolio working alongside AWS’s cloud-based services and scalable, pre-integrated applications.

T-Mobile 5G Advanced Network Solutions and AWS will also collaborate on customizable, use case specific offerings as part of the new Integrated Private Wireless on AWS program. This will help customers get the performance and applications they need for their unique use cases such as monitoring worker safety on remote industrial campuses or performing predictive maintenance on manufacturing equipment.

Businesses need solutions that meet them where they are on their respective digital transformation journeys, with connectivity and compute solutions that easily fit into their existing infrastructure and help speed innovation, business opportunity, and revenue growth. This partnership between T-Mobile and AWS does just that, with flexible 5G solutions that deliver on the compute front.

I see this as helping speed the adoption of 5G private networks, which have heretofore often been either too complex or too costly to implement. Customers have largely been required to work across multiple vendors for compute, connectivity, applications, integration and navigate increased budgetary pressures. In addition, some connectivity vendors insist on a costly one-size-fits all approach to private networking versus a flexible set of private, hybrid, and public networking options. This alliance between T-Mobile 5G and AWS is exciting, because they can offer customized 5G edge compute solutions to businesses of all sizes.

Then they simply choose T-Mobile 5G as their provider. I see this as a big win for customers across the board. I think we’ll see more 5G deployments as a result, which benefits businesses and customers alike.
